Risk accounts and exposure

Keep books for coverage accounts and the house book: ledger, deals by hand, CSV or API, positions, P&L, margin, exposure per symbol and the dealing desk.

Risk accounts keep books for the accounts behind your pricing: coverage accounts at your LPs and the house book of client trades you keep. XiroLink values every open position at its own live prices, so balance, equity, margin and exposure are always current.

Risk accounts are included from the Professional plan, or as an add-on to Standard.

XiroLink does not route orders. Deals are recorded on these accounts by you, by CSV or through the API, so the books match what happened at your LPs and on your platform.

Account types

Type Use it for
Coverage A hedge account at a liquidity provider

On Accounts, add an account:

Currency Default USD
Leverage 1 to 10,000, default 100. Used for margin.

The ledger

Add Deposit, Withdrawal, Credit and Adjustment entries by hand. Deals add their own entries for realised P&L, commission and swap. Those can only be removed by deleting the deal.

Record deals

By hand

Open an account and add a deal: side, symbol, volume in lots, price, time, and optionally commission, swap, profit and a Deal ID. Leave profit on Auto to have it worked out. Costs are negative numbers.

From a CSV statement

Choose the import, select the file and Check file to preview it before Import.

csv
time,symbol,side,volume,price,commission,swap,profit,contract_size,deal_id,comment
2026-11-03 09:30:00,EURUSD,buy,1.5,1.08542,-7.5,0,,,"100231",
2026-11-03 11:02:14,EURUSD,sell,1.5,1.08610,-7.5,0,,,"100232",

time, symbol, side, volume and price are required. Times are UTC, as Unix seconds or milliseconds, or dates such as 2026-11-03 09:30:00 or 2026.11.03 09:30. Side can be buy, sell, b, s, long or short. Up to 20,000 rows; rows with a deal_id already on the account are skipped.

Through the API

Send deals from your platform or back office as they happen. Each deal goes to the account with the matching login.

http
POST /api/risk/deals/ingest
Authorization: Bearer <admin token>
Content-Type: application/json

  {"login": "COV-LP1", "symbol": "EURUSD", "side": "buy", "volume": 1.5, "price": 1.08542, "ts": 1762162200, "commission": -7.5, "external_id": "100231"}
]

Optional fields are ts, contract_size, commission, swap, profit, external_id and comment. Send up to 5,000 deals per request. The reply counts what was booked, what was skipped as a repeat, and any unknown_logins. Requests need an admin user's token; contact support to set up an integration.

Positions and P&L

Deals net into one position per symbol: deals in the same direction average in, opposite deals close part or all of it, and a larger opposite deal turns it around. A deal that arrives late, or a deleted deal, rebuilds the account from the start.

Open positions are valued at the bridge's live price, the bid for longs and the ask for shorts, and converted to the account currency. Without a contract size, forex uses 100,000, silver 5,000, other metals and commodities 100, and everything else 1.

Figure How it is worked out
Balance The ledger, without credit
Equity The ledger including credit, plus floating P&L
Margin The value of open positions divided by leverage
Free margin Equity minus margin
Margin level Equity divided by margin, as a percentage
Growth Time weighted, leaving out deposits, withdrawals and credit
Max drawdown The largest fall from a peak, as a percentage

Each account's equity is recorded every 5 minutes for its equity curve, over a day up to a year.

Exposure

The Exposure tab shows, per symbol across active accounts:

Column Meaning
Risk book Lots on the house book
Coverage Lots on coverage accounts
Net lots, Net USD What is left uncovered, in lots and in US dollars
Covered How much of the house book position your coverage offsets

The cards at the top total coverage equity, risk book equity, floating P&L and the number of unhedged symbols. Accounts whose margin level falls below 150% appear in Needs attention on the dashboard.

Dealing desk

The Dealing desk shows live prices, depth, sentiment and time and sales, with one-click fills on your risk accounts. Use it to record a hedge or a house trade at the current price, raw or as a taker receives it, with take profit and stop loss.

Desk fills are recorded on your risk accounts only. They are not sent to any LP. Only admins can trade, and there are no fills on a price older than 10 seconds or while the market is closed.
