Symbols and mapping
Add symbols from the XiroLink library, map makers and takers, match a provider list, import CSV and set per-taker spike filter, tick boost and delay.
The Symbols page holds your universal symbol list: every instrument your bridge prices, which makers it comes from and which takers receive it.

EURUSD.xAdd symbols from the library
Choose Add symbol, then Choose from library. The XiroLink library holds 1,839 instruments with the right digits: 1,175 forex pairs, 624 crypto pairs, 31 metals, and indices and energy.
- Pick a tab: Forex, Metals, Crypto, Indices, Energy, US stocks or Futures.
- Search by name or ticker (for example
LINKorBitcoin), or keep Popular only ticked to see the most traded. - Tick the symbols you want, or choose Add all popular.
- Under Price it from, pick the maker that prices them, and under Send to taker, the taker that receives them. Both can wait.
Names are forex style (ETHUSD, LINKUSD), and each maker is mapped to the name its provider uses. Symbols you already have are kept as they are, and any symbol the maker cannot stream is listed instead of mapped.
To add something that is not in the library, choose Create new.
Symbol settings
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Symbol | The universal name, as clients see it by default. Always upper case. |
| Display name | A friendlier name for screens |
| Security | The asset class, such as FX or Metals. It sets trading hours and stale alerts. |
| Trading hours | Leave on Same as security, or pick a profile for this symbol only |
| Digits | Decimal places sent to clients, 0 to 8 |
| Price source | Single maker, best price or priority with failover. See Price sources and failover. |
| Stale after | Milliseconds before a maker's price stops counting as fresh. Default 5000. |
New symbols start with 5 digits, a single maker and 5000 ms.
Map makers and takers
Open a symbol to see its Sources (the makers that price it, each with a priority) and its Takers (who receives it, and the name it is Sent as). Use Add and Map there for one symbol at a time.
For many symbols at once:
- Grid shows every symbol against every maker and taker. Click a cell to map, rename or remove. Only symbols with gaps shows what still needs a source or a taker.
- By taker → Send symbols sends a taker all symbols, one security, or the same symbols as another taker.
- Select rows on the Symbols tab and choose Map to maker or Map to taker. Mapping a second maker adds it as the next priority, a backup.
A taker's symbol names follow its prefix and suffix rule, so EURUSD becomes EURUSD.r for a taker with suffix .r.
Match a provider's symbol list
When an LP sends you its symbol list, open By maker, choose the maker and Match from list. Paste the provider's symbols and choose Preview matches.
Matching strips common suffixes such as .r, m, pro and ecn, and knows common aliases such as GOLD for XAUUSD and NAS100 for USTEC. The preview sorts every line into Will map, Already mapped, Already sourced or No match. Choose Create mappings to apply it.
Import and export CSV
Import → Export CSV downloads your symbols; Import CSV brings changes back.

EURUSD,Euro vs US Dollar,forex,5,single,5000,yes,
XAUUSD,Gold,metals,2,failover,3000,yes,Only name is required. Rows match existing symbols by name, and blank cells keep the current value. The preview shows what is new, updated or unchanged, and any row with an error, before anything changes. An import applies completely or not at all, up to 5,000 rows.
Keep coverage complete
The top of the page warns when something would leave clients without prices:
- symbols have no active maker: click to see them, then add a source.
- a taker receives no symbols: choose Map all to send it every symbol.
Each symbol shows its state: Live, Waiting for ticks, Stale, No active maker, Market closed or Disabled. Filter by state at the top of the list.
Per-taker price processing
Open a symbol on the By taker tab to set how one taker receives it:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sent to the taker as | The name this taker sees |
| Spike filter | Drops a price that jumps further than this from the last one sent. 0 turns it off. |
| Tick boost | Off, 2x, 3x or 5x. Adds evenly spaced prices between real ones, for a smoother feed on a slow symbol. |
| Delay | Holds every price back by this many milliseconds, up to 10,000. 0 turns it off. |
Rename or delete
Rename a universal symbol with Edit, and a maker or taker name in the Grid. A symbol used in a synthetic formula cannot be renamed or deleted until the formula stops using it.
