How XiroLink works
Makers, universal symbols, takers and markups: how a price travels from your liquidity providers through XiroLink to every platform.
XiroLink sits between your liquidity providers and your trading platforms. Every price takes the same path through it, and each step has its own page in the dashboard.

A maker is a source of prices: a liquidity provider over FIX 4.4 or TCP, a market data feed for forex, metals and crypto, or another XiroLink bridge over Xiro Connect.
Each maker runs in its own session with its own heartbeat and reconnect, so one LP going down never affects the others. Your bridge connects to every maker from its own fixed IP address, which is the one address your LPs need to allow-list. You will find it in the XiroLink portal, on your company's Server card.
See Connect a FIX 4.4 LP.
Universal symbols: one list in the middle
LPs and platforms rarely agree on names. One LP sends EUR/USD, another EURUSD.x, and your MetaTrader server expects EURUSD.r.
XiroLink keeps one universal symbol list in the middle. Each maker symbol is mapped to a universal symbol, and each universal symbol is mapped on to every taker. You can fill the list from the built-in library of more than 1,800 instruments, which sets names and digits for you.
Universal symbols are grouped into securities such as FX, Metals and Crypto, which carry trading hours.
The price engine: one clean price per symbol
When a symbol comes from more than one maker, the price engine decides what your clients see. For each symbol you choose:
| Mode | What clients get |
|---|---|
| Single maker | Every price from one maker |
| Best price | The best bid and the best ask across makers with a fresh price |
| Priority with failover | Your first choice maker, then the next one when it goes stale, and back again when it recovers |
A staleness threshold keeps an old price from going out as fresh. Outside a symbol's trading hours it shows Market closed and its alerts stay quiet.
Takers: where prices go
A taker is a platform or client that receives your prices. There are four kinds:
| Taker | Connects |
|---|---|
| Feeder | MetaTrader 5 servers, through the XiroLink datafeed |
| API | Your own systems and clients, over FIX 4.4 or WebSocket |
| TCP | A plain stream of prices over TCP |
| Xiro Connect | Another XiroLink bridge, to share prices across brands |
Each taker has its own credentials, allowed IP addresses, symbol names and markup profile, so every platform gets exactly the symbols and spreads you choose for it.
See MT5 datafeed and FIX API for your clients.
Markups: your spreads per platform
A markup profile turns the raw price into the price a client sees. Profiles hold a default markup for every symbol, rules for single symbols, three one-click multipliers for news, and spread limits. You assign one profile to each taker, so a Standard and a VIP server can price differently from the same feed.
See Markup profiles.
What XiroLink does not do
XiroLink distributes prices. It does not route orders: trades stay with your trading platform and the execution setup you already have. For your books, the risk accounts module keeps a ledger, P&L and exposure for coverage accounts at your LPs and for your house book.
